My first live baseball game was a let-down. We left at around the 12th inning. The score was still 0-0. We sat far from the playing area, but that's not a problem. Nothing was happening anyway. The only things that entertained me were the racing eyeballs, the stadium canteen food and the crowd.
Baseball is quite the all-American sport, and I guess I was there for the atmosphere. Exclamations of disappointment, excitement and awe were in unison. Then, we sat beside this family of very vocal Miners fans. This one man kept calling out the opponent, trying to size him up. He was saying all sorts of funny and sarcastic things. I loved listening. The jokes were a bit vulgar for all the kids there, but he was entertaining. Very.
So, the actual game was a miss, but the crowd compensated a little bit. :)
